A certified Post-Installed Concrete Anchor Installation Inspector is an individual who has demonstrated the knowledge required to properly inspect the installation of post-installed adhesive and mechanical anchors in concrete. The Inspector must understand the responsibilities and qualification requirements of the Installer, inspection requirements as cited in the documents governing the construction of the project, and the process governing the qualification of anchor systems.
ACI Certification Card :
ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who attain passing grades on both written examination parts :
- Part I - Installation : The forty-five-minute written examination is closed-book, consists of 45 multiple-choice questions, and requires a minimum passing score of 74%.
Note : Being certified in ACI’s Adhesive Anchor Installer program does not grant exemption from this
Part I—Installation exam. Furthermore, passing this Part I—Installation exam does not grant credit towards the ACI Adhesive Anchor Installer written examination.
- Part II - Inspection : The two-hour written examination is open-book, consists of 90 multiple-choice questions, and requires a minimum passing score of 60% on each subsection PLUS a 70% overall exam score.
In addition, the candidate must meet one of the following conditions:
- Be certified as an ACI Adhesive Anchor Installer;
- Have attended a live hands-on practice session
- Have viewed the instructor-guided video on the installation of adhesive anchors. This video is offered by the local section.
Certification is valid for a period of five years from the date of successfully completing all requirements.
ACI Certification Sessions :
Certification sessions are offered at different times of the year.
Sessions can also be organized on request for groups of 10 people or more.
Typical schedule of a session :
Certification sessions are offered over half a day:
- Watching the Adhesive Anchor Installation video: 30 minutes
- Exam 1 - Installation: 45 minutes
- Exam 2 - Inspection: 90 minutes
Cost :
The cost of certification is $800 + taxes per person.
The cost of certification includes documentation. Please note that the documentation for Part I is available in French or English. However, the documentation for Part II is only available in English.
For a retrial of the exams, the cost is $350 + taxes/part.

Registrations are online only on the website and payment can be made by credit card.
Note that your registration confirmation is also your invoice.
Cancellation Policy :
No refunds for cancellations within 2 weeks of the session. However, substitutions of people are possible. Also, if a study guide was sent to you, the cost for it will be deducted from the refund.
