Adhesive Anchor Installer

The ACI-CRSI Adhesive Anchor Installer Certification Program identifies installers who have demonstrated their ability to read, understand and implement instructions to properly install adhesive anchors in concrete. The adhesive anchor installer must also have the knowledge required to assess the ambient conditions, concrete condition, materials, equipment, and tools used for the installation of adhesive anchors and must be able to determine when he can proceed with the installation and when he needs more advice from the supervisor, foreman or project engineer.

ACI Certification Card :

In order to be certified, two conditions must be met, namely to successfully complete the written examination and the practical examination.

Although there is no requirement in terms of training or experience, exams are designed in such a way that only competent and experienced installers can succeed.

This certification is valid for a period of five years.

ACI Certification Sessions :

Certification sessions are offered at different times of the year.

Sessions can also be organized on request for groups.

Written exam :

The written exam consists of approximately seventy-five (75) multiple-choice and true or false questions. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes (1.5 hours).

The exam is "closed book", ie no notes or documentation are allowed in the examination room. Calculations are sometimes necessary to complete some questions, so it is allowed to bring your calculator. However, you can not share your calculator with another candidate. Photo ID may be requested on the day of the exam.

Practical examination :

The practical exam is composed of two parts.

The first part assesses the candidate's ability to read, understand and carry out the Manufacturer's Installation Instructions (IIF) for the installation of a concrete adhesive anchor with a vertical downward orientation.

The second part evaluates the candidate's ability to inject the anchoring adhesive into drill holes simulated in concrete (transparent tubes) in an overhead position.

Notes or other written documents are prohibited.

Course of a session :

The certification sessions are of 2 days duration.

The first day is devoted to the revision of the documentation. A period is also devoted to practice the tests evaluated during the practical exam.

The second day is the certification itself. The written exam is done first. Then all the candidates are invited to carry out the practical examination. Depending on the number of people to certify in the group, certification is usually completed around 12:00.
